Race Movie and Premier

I am big movie fan (especially bollywood movies)

Race is a new hindi movie which released(y’day in India) and the reviews suggested it to be a very gud movie

Student Technology Venture Challenge

The other awesome news was…

I am in the semi-finalist at the “Student Technology Venture”(TechVC). I even had a phenomenal responses from the judges. In order to reach to the finals I need to submit a 5-page report by April 30th.

I met Bruce Firestone(http://www.dramatispersonae.org/ShortFormResumeParsed.htm). I think one of the nicest person I have met. He offered me advice on to give this elevator pitch and how to presenting business report. he’z a big inspiration and I need to learn lot of things from him.

For the TechVC I will be metored by Richard Timmons CEO of Guildline Instruments. I am looking forward to meet him next week

Entrepreneurship and Innovation Challenge…. a gr8 beginning

For the past couple of weeks there has been lot of things hapenning …. I recently defended my Thesis(Electrical Engineering) while looking for jobs I participated in Entrepreneurship challenges as I found it to be very interesting. Here is a quick glimpse of what’s happening at my end

1. I participated in an ” Elevator Pitch Competition” at Faculty of Management and it was for the first time a engineer participated in an management event. It was a gr8 experience to compete with polished MBA students. I even took a feedback and found that I was even nominated for a 2nd prize but the idea suffers from medical issues.

2. I am selected as one of the finalist in “Graduate Entrepreneurship and Innovation Fellowship” to be held on Apil 14th and I am realy looking forward to it.

Guerrilla Marketing

Frankly speaking I just came to know on this type of marketing last week. From what I have understood is that this marketing is very useful for small business because it has to do more with the psychological side of human being.

A classical definition of guerrilla marketing is

Y’day I went to “Elevator Pitch Competition” and I had wonderful experience and life long memories. I thought I would share this way of introducing which would definetely help you in marketing you and your product. So let me tell you about what is elevator pitch/talk is:

Supposing you are looking for a job or have an amazing idea(product) and you have to introduce this in very simple terms to potential hiring or funding corporator and leave an impression such that they should be interested to speak with you again.  As u can imagine its just an brief overview so the time you have is like 60-90 seconds. 5 tips:

Here’s how to create yours:

1. Figure out what is unique about what you do: The whole idea behind a great elevator pitch is to intrigue someone. It’s an ice-breaker and a marketing pitch — all rolled into one.Your elevator pitch must have a hook. “I own a flower shop downtown” doesn’t hold a candle to “I’m a specialty florist who deals in rare, South American tropical flowers that bloom in the winter.”
2. Make it exciting: A superior elevator pitch increases your heart rate. It speaks to who you really are and what excites you about your business. It has integrity. What is it about your business that really motivates you? Incorporate that.
3. Keep it simple: A good elevator pitch doesn’t try and be all things to all people. Rather, it conveys a clear idea in a short amount of time. It might be a few sentences, but no more than a paragraph or so. Keep it under 30 seconds.
4. Write it down: Use the guidelines above and take a stab at it. Write down your pitch, say it out loud, re-write it, and then re-write it again. Remember what I always tell my daughters: “Writing is re-writing!”
5. Practice, and the practice some more: The first few times you try out your elevator pitch may be a bit uncomfortable, but it gets easier. After a while, it will become second nature to you, and when it does, you will be glad you practiced.
